Restore Comfort and Confidence with Women’s Pelvic Health Care

ABOUT WOMENS PELVIC HEALTH
Women’s pelvic health is often overlooked and undertreated. Concerns such as urinary leakage, pelvic pain, constipation, painful intimacy, pelvic organ prolapse, and changes during pregnancy, postpartum, or menopause are common—but they should not be dismissed as something you simply have to live with.
At Peloraa

Women's Pelvic health isn’t an additional service at Peloraa,  it’s our focus.

Women’s pelvic health physiotherapy can help identify what may be contributing to your symptoms, improve pelvic floor function, and support you in moving, exercising, using the bathroom, and experiencing intimacy with greater comfort and confidence.
At Peloraa, our pelvic health physiotherapists take the time to listen to your concerns, explain how your pelvic floor and body may be connected, and create a personalized treatment plan based on your comfort, needs, and goals.
Your care, thoughtfully considered

The Peloraa Way

01

Is an internal pelvic floor examination required?

No. An internal vaginal assessment is optional and is completed only when clinically appropriate and with your informed consent. You may decline, pause, or change your mind at any time, and your physiotherapist can begin with education, movement, breathing, and external assessment.

02

Do I need to do Kegels for every pelvic floor problem?

No. Some pelvic floors need strengthening, while others need relaxation, improved coordination, or better pressure management. An assessment helps determine whether Kegels are appropriate for you.

03

Can pelvic floor physiotherapy help during pregnancy?

Yes. Pregnancy pelvic floor physiotherapy may support pelvic or back pain, leakage, constipation, safe exercise, birth preparation, and postpartum planning. Care is adapted to your stage of pregnancy and any medical guidance from your maternity-care provider.

Women’s Pelvic health
FAQs

What is women’s pelvic health physiotherapy?

Women’s pelvic health physiotherapy assesses and treats concerns involving the pelvic floor, bladder, bowel, abdominal wall, pelvis, hips, and surrounding muscles and nerves. It may support urinary leakage, pelvic pain, constipation, painful intimacy, pelvic organ prolapse, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and menopause-related changes.

How do I know if I need pelvic floor physiotherapy?

Consider a pelvic floor physiotherapy assessment if you experience bladder leakage, urgency, constipation, vaginal pressure, pelvic pain, painful intimacy, or difficulty returning to exercise after pregnancy or surgery. Symptoms do not have to be severe before you seek help.

Is urinary leakage after childbirth or with age normal?

Urinary leakage is common, but it is not something you simply have to accept after childbirth or as you get older. A pelvic health physiotherapist can assess muscle strength, tension, coordination, breathing, and pressure management to determine an appropriate treatment plan.

Does pelvic floor physiotherapy help with painful sex?

Pelvic floor physiotherapy may help when painful intimacy is related to muscle tension, sensitivity, scar tissue, coordination, or nervous-system responses. Treatment is private, consent-based, and adapted to your symptoms and comfort.

When should I begin postpartum pelvic floor physiotherapy?

The right time depends on your delivery, healing, symptoms, and medical history. Education, breathing, mobility, and recovery guidance can often begin early, while physical assessment and exercise are adapted to your stage of healing.

Can pelvic floor physiotherapy help during menopause?

Yes. Pelvic floor physiotherapy may help manage urinary urgency or leakage, prolapse symptoms, pelvic discomfort, painful intimacy, and changes in strength or coordination during perimenopause and menopause.
